Our
Mission:
To
provide people with physical, cognitive and emotional disabilities a program of
individualized equestrian instruction in a safe and supportive, eco-friendly
farm environment.
We
provide opportunities for the professional development of our instructors and
volunteers, as well as ongoing training of our horses, for therapeutic
horseback riding and equine-assisted activities.

HHR believes that the disabled population within the community can contribute to producing a happier healthier person and improve the quality of life. We at HHR offer recreation, education and the opportunity to enter competition in an equestrian sport world. Through horseback riding lessons the rider derives confidence, concentration, discipline and self awareness. By virtue of the modality of the horse, physical well being is obtained through movement, balance and conformation.

Special People United to Ride (SPUR)
Serves: Individuals four through adult with disabilities, military members and veterans with disabilities. Contact Person: Liz Haenchen, Head Instructor NARHA Center: NARHA Premier Accredited Center Operation: Year round, Monday- Friday, Saturdays most sessions. Five 8-week sessions per year. Instructors: NARHA certified riding instructors teach all SPUR programming. Facility: 80x200 indoor arena with climate controlled viewing area, outdoor arena, and sensory trail. 16 horses and ponies, 16 staff members, 100+ volunteers. Services Offered: Therapeutic English riding lessons – Group and Private, Military and Veteran programs, field trips for therapeutic and traditional students, volunteer training workshops. Disabilities Served: Cognitive, Emotional, Physical, and Psychological. Fee Structure: $328 for one 8-week session. Scholarships Available.
